The day after go-live, most of the real work is just starting. Here’s the checklist we run internally with every client during their first 90 days on NetSuite.
Weeks 1-2: Stabilize
Expect a spike in support tickets — that’s normal, not a sign something went wrong. Prioritize anything blocking daily operations (order entry, invoicing, payroll-adjacent processes) over cosmetic issues. Keep a running list of “nice to have” requests separate from true blockers so the team isn’t context-switching constantly.
Weeks 3-6: Reinforce training
The first month-end close on a new system is where gaps in training become obvious. Schedule role-based refresher sessions before your first close, not after problems show up in it.
Weeks 6-12: Start optimizing
Once the system is stable and the team is comfortable, this is the window to start addressing the “nice to have” list — new saved searches, dashboard tweaks, small workflow improvements. This is also the right time for a first light-touch system review: are the reports the finance team actually needs coming out correctly? Is there a workaround that crept back in during the stabilization scramble that should be fixed properly now?
Day 90: Formal check-in
By day 90, you should have a clear picture of what’s working, what still needs attention, and what your ongoing support model looks like. If your implementation partner disappears around this point, that’s exactly the gap Managed Services exists to close — the same team stays engaged instead of handing you off to someone new right when the real usage patterns are becoming clear.
